Getting cards good enough to compete has literally never been easier than it is nowadays. Back in the days before Weekend League, SBC's and Divisions that give you packs, you only got coins from matches, by grinding the market or by buying them. Packs weren't ever given as rewards, you had to buy them with coins or FP.
